Powerball $1.03 Billion Jackpot Missed But Many States Still Wins Big
The Powerball drawing on Monday night passed without a winner, no lucky ticket matched all six numbers for the record-breaking $1.03 billion jackpot. The winning numbers drawn on April 1st were 19, 24, 40, 42, and 56, with a red Powerball of 23. Although the Powerball jackpot grew for the next drawing, but several lucky players still won over 30 million.
Tickets sold in Maryland, Florida, Minnesota, North Carolina, and Virginia all matched five white balls, securing a $1 million prize each for the lucky holders in those states. In Minnesota state, a lucky player bought a five-matched ticket at Casey’s General Store in Fridley and won $1 million. With a $1 million win, two $50,000 prize tickets were sold at different stores. One ticket was bought from Kwik Trips in Monticello and the other was sold at Burnsville.
A Worth $1 million ticket was sold in Florida. The lucky winner bought a Powerball Quick Pick ticket at Sedano’s Supermarket at 12981 South Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando and successfully matched five of the six numbers drawn. One lucky winner in North Carolina hit the $1 million by matching all five balls. This lucky ticket was sold for $2 at the Zoom In convenience store on South Hughes Boulevard in Elizabeth City.
In the Maryland Lottery, there were two players, each won $1,000,000. Both tickets were purchased at the same stores (at the same 7-Eleven on Bestgate Road in Annapolis) but it is not clear whether the same person bought both tickets.
The next drawing, scheduled for Wednesday, April 3rd, with an estimated $1.09 billion, and a cash option of approximately $527 million.
