A Lady of Michigan Lottery Receives $227K Jackpot Surprise From Email Which She Considered Junk Email

Saginaw County Woman Discovers $227,000 Lottery Prize in Spam Folder in Michigan Lottery

A Saginaw County woman who wishes to remain anonymous found a $227,000 jackpot after unearthing her junk mail folder. The 56-year-old winner won the prize by participating in the Big Cash Second Chance Jackpot drawing.

The lucky winner said, “I never check my spam folder but for some reason, I did that day.” She added when she opened the spam folder there was a jackpot surprise, “There was an email from the Michigan Lottery saying I had won a second-chance drawing!”

Initially, she thought it suspicious because it was a voicemail from an unknown number, but after all, instead of dismissing it outright, she researched it all week. Upon listening to a voicemail she waited for the whole week and finally, on Monday, she contacted the Michigan Lottery office directly to verify it was spam or real. But Michigan Lottery confirmed it was real, she had indeed won the BIG CA$H Second Chance Jackpot.

“Honestly, I couldn’t believe it at first,” she confessed. “I thought it was a scam mail because I had missed a call from the Michigan Lottery earlier that day.” The elated winner expressed her relief and gratitude: “I can’t describe how much of a relief it is to win,” she said. “This prize couldn’t have come at a better time and is going to change my life!”

The second-chance progressive jackpot is an online instant game. For every $0.50 wagered on eligible games, players earn entries into the monthly drawing. The recent totals have been impressive as the jackpot resets at $5,000 for the next round.
