Daniel Ceroni, a resident of Henrico, Virginia, experienced an unexpected twist of fate when he checked the winning Powerball numbers for the June 22 drawing. Rather than keeping the windfall to himself, Ceroni decided to spread the love among his family members. He invited three relatives—Danielle Brundage from Port Orchard, Washington; Tracy Zaldivar from Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Teresa Bass from Spotsylvania, Virginia—to share in the winnings. Each family member received an equal share of $250,000 before taxes.

The winning white ball numbers for that memorable June 22 drawing were 4, 5, 15, 32, and 62, with the Powerball number being 21. Ceroni’s ticket matched all the white ball numbers, missing only the Powerball number. Remarkably, his ticket was one of just two nationwide to win the $1 million prize, and it was the sole winning ticket purchased in Virginia. Ceroni had purchased the ticket at the Food Lion store located at 2599 New Market Road in Varina, using the Easy Pick option to generate the winning numbers.

As a bonus for selling the winning ticket, the Food Lion received $10,000 from the Virginia Lottery.

In another stroke of luck, John Wise, another Virginia resident, stopped at Chubby’s on his way home from work. There, he purchased a Scorching Hot 7s scratch-off ticket and scratched his way to the game’s top prize of $777,777. Wise described it as a “fluke,” but he claimed one of the top prizes available in the scratcher game. Interestingly, there’s still one more top prize waiting to be claimed in the same game.

Lastly, William Norris, playing the Lottery’s High Roller Jackpot online game, won a jaw-dropping jackpot worth $165,002. Norris, a resident of Mineral, Virginia, was at home when he hit the big jackpot. His plans? To take care of his family and possibly start his own business.

These heartwarming stories remind us that sometimes, sharing wealth with loved ones makes a lottery win even more meaningful.
