In Kentucky Lottery a Contractor Won $50K Prize, But His Fiancée Didn’t Believe Him
A trip to a Shell gas station on Elm Street in Louisville turned into a much more rewarding experience for a lucky Kentucky Lottery player than he ever anticipated. The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, recently won a cool $50,000 prize on a scratch-off ticket, but his biggest challenge might not be managing the windfall – it’s convincing his fiancée it’s real.
“I’m a contractor, so sometimes people give me tips,” he shared. Perhaps inspired by a generous client, he decided to take a chance, and this time, chance turned into cold, hard cash.
A spur-of-the-moment decision to buy a $50 Millionaire’s Club scratch-off ticket at the gas station counter turned out to be life-changing.
Scratching away the coating at home, disbelief quickly turned into excitement. “I couldn’t believe it when I saw the gold bar symbol,” he exclaimed. This symbol signified the game’s top prize: a staggering $50,000! Naturally, he wanted to share the fantastic news with his fiancée right away. “My fiancé was sleeping, and I wanted to wake her so badly,” he chuckled.
The following morning, unexpectedly he woke up earlier than usual so his fiancée, who immediately suspected something was amiss. “What are you doing? Something is up,” she inquired, her curiosity piqued. So he told his fiancee about winning. “She thought it was one of those prank scratch-off tickets,” he chuckled, describing her initial disbelief.
Even after explaining his purchase at the Shell station and showing her the ticket, his fiancée remained unconvinced. The lucky man plans to use his winnings for some much-needed home repairs and to save the rest for the future
